Lace up your Hiking Shoes and visit the Trolls!

Kim Bettcher

I figured what better way to relaunch this blog than to share the opportunity to go Troll Hunting! It is a wonderful way to Find A Way To Play!

An amazing international artist, Thomas Dambo, brought his talents to the Detroit Lakes area! The community raised money, lead by a great new-ish organization, Project 412, to bring not one, not two but FIVE trolls and an Easter Egg (not like Taylor Swift’s eggs for her fans) They also have 3 magical portals “in the area” as well. .

The Trolls are made out of recycled or upcycled wood and building products. Although the Trolls were “hidden” at the start, Project 412 out of Detroit Lakes (the driver/supporters of the project), have done a great job on their website of helping visitors out! You can find out more information via their website. They are also responsible for cool pop up art opportunities, murals, wraps of electrical boxes and more in our area! project412mn.org

The Trolls really are amazing! So, if you are looking for something to do on your own or with a group, I encourage you to find a way to play on the hiking trails in and around the Detroit Lakes area!
